Ceramic encaustic antique hallway floor (CE37)
PLEASE NOTE:- THIS FLOOR IS FOR SALE BUT STORED AT OUR AGENTS IN CANADA
A small and complete ceramic encaustic hallway floor, totaling 7m2 / 75sq ft, dated c.1920. The floor consists of a principal field tile in off white and grey with a starred blue motif, complimented by an ornate double back to back border tile in predominantly aubergine.
The floor was reclaimed from a period property in Lyon, in the south east of France.
The tiles are ceramic encaustic and both the principal field tile and the border tiles are 15 cm sq / c. 6 inches. There are 145 principal tiles and 156 border tiles along with 8 corner pieces and the floor can be laid as a small hallway floor or equally impressively as a centralised feature of a larger hallway, framed by a complimentary tile or antique parquet. I can provide advice on any potential configuration on receipt of the dimensions of the room of your choice.
The floor is completely cleaned and ready to re-lay and more photographs are available on request.
