18m2 / 195 sq ft antique French carreaux de ciments floor with original borders (CM40)

SOLD   SOLD   SOLD   A large, 18m2+ / 195 sq ft, French antique carreaux de ciment floor reclaimed from the entrance hall and dining room of a town house in Moissac, Lot et Garonne in south west France. The tiles, of a yellow cross motif on a fond of red, are 20cm square and over 2 cm thick, weighing over 1.5 kilos each and come with their original diamond and domino same size border tiles. Years of old wax and dirt have been professionally removed, detailing a rich antique patina as the high resolution photographs below show. The tiles, now in their matt state following cleaning, will require sealing once laid and we supply the clear sealant free.

Carreaux de ciments are a cured rather than fired tile and are only suitable for laying inside the home or in a climate where there is no risk of freezing and thawing. They can be used with underfloor heating systems.
