Douzies Maubeuge ceramic encaustic floor in Autumnal colours (CD5)

16.4m2+ / 175 sq ft+ of Douzies Maubege c.1920 ceramic encaustic tiles of an ornate detailed motif and a repeating cross design.

The colours are autumnal, subtle but warm on an offwhite background. The same size border tiles feature trailing ivy on a dark burgundy background with mustard piping.

This is a good quality ceramic tile, 1.5cm thick, which has cleaned beautifully. The floor has had all old mortar removed and years of wax cleaned from the tiles faces.

Both the principal field tile and the border tiles are 15cm square / < 6 inches sq. Give or take one or two there are 632 field tiles and 97 border tiles providing a linear length of borders of 14.6 metres/48 linear ft.
