8.5m2 Antique French ceramic kitchen floor with same size borders c.1920

SOLD   SOLD   SOLD   A pretty antique French ceramic floor, with its original same size border tile, totalling 8.5m2 / 90sq ft+, recovered from the kitchen of a house in Bethune, France. The tile fond of these 14cm sq tiles is off-white and the floral motif is blue, mushroom and dark brown, as is the matching same size border tile.

The tiles have cleaned very well and arrive ready to relay, they are in good condition with the occasional grout-able chips and edge nibbles apparent on a small number of tiles. The full contingent of border tiles is present, totalling some 17 linear metres / 55 linear feet, and three of the four original mitre cut corner pieces exist (see photo below). The missing one, and any other corners needed, can easily be similarly cut using the existing regular border tile. Given the length of the border tiles they can be laid as a double lay as the pattern lends itself to a double lay.

Being ceramic tiles and highly fired, they can be used with under floor heating systems in a bathroom or kitchen.

Tile quantities (give or take one or two):-

Field – 315

Border tiles – 118 (3 existing mitre corners)

plus offcuts
