12m2 to 25m2 Antique gres cerame Maufroid Freres et Soeur floor c.1900-1910 (CL6)

One of two Maufroid Freres et Soeur antique gres cerame floors reclaimed from a Maison Maitre in Namur, Belgium dating from the early 20th century. The 16.5cm square tiles, reverse stamped with the Maufroid 'M' and rings were handmade in small batches and come with their original double same size border tiles. The pattern is strongly geometric, damier in theme, and uses two main field tiles with the only deviation from an autumnal palette of off-white, mustard, burgundy and greens being the primrose blue of one of the elegant field tiles. The photographs below were taken before the floor was lifted as the floor is currently being professionally cleaned at The Antique Floor Company.

Each tile has already been quality controlled and the surface area is 12.5m2 / 135 sq ft*. Being a highly fired ceramic the floor will perform very efficiently with underfloor heating systems and can be laid inside or outside of the home.

Tile quantities, give or take one or two:-

Main field tiles - 310 - 8.4m2 / 91 sq ft

Border tiles - 140 - (23.1 linear metres / 75 linear ft +) - 4 m2 / 43 sq ft

* There is both a shared border series and common field tiles with this floor and the sister Maufroid floor reclaimed from the same house providing the opportunity for the two floors to be merged to complete a larger area of c.25m2 / 270 sq ft+.
