11m2+ of antique grey hexagon tiles - c.1895 (CM30)

11m2+ of antique grey hexagon tiles - c.1895

SOLD SOLD SOLD

11m2+ / 118 sq ft+ of antique hexagon carreaux de ciment floor tiles reclaimed from a house in Carcassonne, South-West France dated 1895.

The design is simple but the visual impact is powerful in its hexagon form; a central charcoal flower on an dove-white fond, framed by a light grey band. The tiles have had their old wax and mortar removed from both reverse and sides and are now in their matt state, requiring sealing and/or waxing once relaid.

Being carreaux de ciment tiles, and cured rather than fired, they are only suitable for indoor use unless you live in a climate where there is no risk of freezing and thawing.

These 2cm thick tiles are large; 20cm across their width and 23cms point to point with 11.5cm sides.

There are c.303+ full tiles plus 50+ (c.2m2) complete tiles with a chip supplied free for cutting to walls or skirting.

28 tiles make a m2.
