13.5 linear metres of antique Belgian ceramic borders
97 antique ceramic encaustic border tiles manufactured by 'Societe Anonyme Le Ceramique National, Welkenraedt', a company established at Forges-Les-Chimay, Belgium in 1892 and which later opened a subsidiary in Welkenraedt in 1900. The Welkenraedt factory continued to trade until the mid 1920's so the floor dates between 1900 and 1920.
The tiles are 14cm square, c.15mm thick and totals 13.6 linear metres or 44.5 linear feet.
Arriving ready to relay, they can frame an antique or modern ceramic or parquet or be used as a decorative feature in kitchen or bathroom, in inglenooks, as a splash back, inside a shower.
