Small Sand & Cie antique ceramic floor with beautiful borders
A small 4.25m2 antique ceramic floor manufactured by Sand & Cie of Feignes, France at the turn of the 20th century.
The classical geometry of these 15cm sq field tiles is framed by a beautifully ornate border tile in a fond of burgundy. The brush hairs width of some of the tile detail is quite extraordinary. There are no corner pieces for the border tiles but given their symmetry they can be mitre cut, as they have been for the purpose of the high resolution photography below.
