Four fully restored and cleaned antique ceramic encaustic floors, dating from the late 19th century through to the early 20th century, have been beautifully relaid in this luxury new build in the leafy Chicago suburbs.
Great imagination has been used in each room when planning the floor layout to both respect the rooms geometry and to maximise the impact of the ornate border tiles.
Period furniture and antique parquet complete the compliment to these stunning floors and even the most subtle touches, like the use of a line of antique tiles in the shower framed by plain tiles, provides for exquisite and elegant detailing.
