Product Condition, Description & Suitability
- All of our tiles are reclaimed, antique, and/or handmade and some of the tiles will show signs of wear, patina, and age. These characteristics add to the tiles authenticity and appeal but in no way reduce their practical functionality or robustness.
- While we always aim to describe items accurately, it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure suitability for their intended use.
- You are welcome to request more details or view items before purchasing, as we cannot accept returns based solely on the wear typical of aged or salvaged goods. When possible, we can send samples of tiles for you to see.
- Sizes and thicknesses of tiles are approximate and may vary, especially with handmade tiles where, owing to the period of their production, the moulds were also handmade. This resulted in subtle variances in tile sizes.
- We pack to the highest quality standard, with most shipments made in insulated wooden box pallets. We take photographic records of the loading of each order.
Order payment and cancellation
- We require payment in full, against the relevant raised invoice, prior to releasing the goods for shipping.
- Unpaid orders may be cancelled up to the point of payment by you and without charge.
- Should a paid for order be held in storage by The Antique Floor Company, as requested by you and pending release for shipping, then the order is considered firm and no cancellation of the order is available.
Delivery Terms
- We will quote for delivery to the address you have communicated, before accepting your order, and outline the general terms of the delivery by the transporter e.g. the size of the vehicle, the use of a tail-lift, the positioning of the pallet kerbside etc.
- Delivery is quoted and charged for your order unless otherwise agreed.
- Delivery quotes do not include insurance against damage, loss or theft. In many cases we will be able to provide supplementary insurance against total or partial loss of the freight. Where not, and insurance is desired, it is the responsibility of you to obtain the appropriate insurance.
- It is rare that a transporter will commit to a specific delivery day but in most instances a transporter will make contact prior to delivering to either notify when he plans to deliver or to coordinate delivery with you.
- While we aim to meet quoted delivery times, delays can occur. We are not liable for any financial loss or damage resulting from delivery delays.
- Delivery is generally to the nearest kerbside position at the address unless otherwise agreed. This is standard transport industry practice. It does not include unpacking, manual handling, or product placement.
- If items cannot be offloaded with standard transport delivery equipment eg a hydraulic tail-lift, manual or electric transpallet, it is the customer’s responsibility to arrange and fund suitable unloading facilities. Adequate health and safety measures are the customer's responsibility.
- We accept no responsibility for consequential or indirect losses arising from delivery or use of our products.
Returns & Refunds Policy
- We do not offer refunds as standard. However, we are committed to fairness and transparency and will consider each case individually.
- If you believe you have received incorrect or misrepresented goods, please contact us within 24 hours of your signed receipt of the goods. You then have 7 days to commence the return of the goods i.e. have booked a transporter or have had the goods collected for their return, inspection and potential refund.
- No returns will be accepted after 21 days from the date of initial notification in writing that you wish to return the goods to us. We will confirm in writing the receipt date of the goods you have returned and that we have commenced their inspection.
- Any refund offered and agreed will exclude the original and return carriage costs, which remain the liability of the purchaser.
- Returned goods must be in the same condition, quality and quantity as delivered. Tiles that have been installed, altered or damaged will not be accepted.
- Returns must be adequately insured and packaged.
- Proof of return shipping is required.
- Refunds, if issued, will be made following inspection and approval of the returned goods. We aim to provide a decision within 5 working days or the receipt of the returned goods.
Retention of Title
- Goods remain the property of The Antique Floor Company until paid for in full.
By continuing to use our website, you consent to the above terms and policies.
